Kenneth Kraegel is a self-taught illustrator and writer. He works primarily with ink and watercolor. He was recently selected as a finalist in the CJ Picture Book Awards in Seoul, Korea. He won the 2010 Illustrator Mentorship Competition of the Michigan chapter of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI). At the 2009 National Conference of the SCBWI, Ken received the Tomie de Paola Honor Award. He lives with his wife in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
